The beach at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, just east of Incline Beach, is closed this summer amid a renovation project. The barge with 1,200 fireworks was damaged during a storm Thursday night at the alpine lake that is about 30 minutes from Reno.

Two popular Lake Tahoe beaches were closed Friday following a fireworks barge accident. According to a news release from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Ski Beach and Incline Beach were closed Friday “until further notice.”
