The lefthander pitched well into the seventh inning and Pete Alonso, Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo all drove in runs as the Mets beat the Brewers, 3-2, in the rubber game of the series before 42,241 at Citi Field.

Brandon Nimmo homered again, Juan Soto came through with a tiebreaking single and the New York Mets held off the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2.

Jose Quintana and David Peterson both pitched for the Mets in the Brewers’ last game of the season last year, which you’d be forgiven for trying to forget about. Tonight, they faced off against each other with Quintana in the other uniform.
