The second round of November’s Social Security payments, worth up to $4,873 for the highest-income earners who retire at age 70, will go out to the second group of retirees in four days. Here is everything you need to know about this month’s Social Security payments.

In December, SSI recipients will receive their payments a day early – Dec. 31 – because Jan. 1 is the New Year’s Day holiday. These checks will reflect two different amounts because the 2025 Cost of Living Adjustment increase will apply to the payment made on Dec. 31.

“Here we go… The Republicans in the House introduced a bill yesterday to reduce Social Security payments to anyone receiving a military pension,” reads one post. “Ummm, so House Republicans just laid a bill on the table to reduce social security payments for Americans who receive a pension or disability benefit from an employer,” says another.

December’s Supplemental Security Income payment, worth up to $943, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in 15 days. The next SSI payments are scheduled to be distributed on Nov. 29 because Dec. 1 is a Sunday.
