Venezuela has freed 10 Americans as part of a larger prisoner exchange for Venezuelan detainees released from El Salvador, the U.S. and Salvadoran governments said Friday.

A deal freed 10 Americans and permanent residents detained in Venezuela for more than 200 Venezuelan migrants who were imprisoned in El Salvador after being expelled from the United States.

An avid water-sports fan and a U.S. Navy sailor are among the 10 U.S. citizens and permanent residents imprisoned by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s government who were released Friday in a prisoner swap, according to a nonprofit that has worked with their families.
