PROVIDENCE — Nine candidates who lost their elections in Rhode Island last week are asking for a recount, though only six are expected to qualify.

But her lengthy argument for disqualifying the 2024 election results statewide did not sway the Board of Elections, which ruled against a recount in House District 66, but left the door open to a closer look on another day at some of the conflicts she alleged between Rhode Island election law and practice.

If the state Board of Elections agrees that each of the requests by losing candidates meets the 2% win/loss margin required for a recount – which is not apparent in all of these races – the manual refeeding of the ballots will take place on Thursday in these races:
