President Trump vowed to impose 50% tariffs on imports from Brazil, citing a "witch hunt" of Brazil's former president.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday his administration will charge Brazil with a 50% tariff on products sent to the U.S. starting August 1 while the Republican leader also expressed support for former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a proposed 50% tariff on copper imports has raised concerns in Chile and Peru, which together account for nearly 40% of global copper production.

President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Wednesday Mexico could redirect the copper it typically sends to the U.S. to avoid tariffs from the Trump administration, while her Chilean counterpart Gabriel Boric said he had yet to hear from the U.
