A 70-year-old man died following a “firework incident” in the Bay State on the Fourth of July, according to officials. The deadly fireworks incident was reported in Wareham.

There are plenty of permitted fireworks displays across the state: There will be over 70 fireworks displays in Massachusetts from July 1 to 5. Over $2 billion is spent on fireworks every year for both private and public displays, according to data since 2021 from the American Pyrotechnics Association.

The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission Regulations state that Massachusetts residents can buy alcohol from liquor stores on the Fourth of July. Beer, wine, and liquor can also be purchased at open grocery stores. While there are no specific hour restrictions, people should check their local liquor store’s hours.
