Three-division world champion Julio César Chávez has defended his same-name son who was arrested by U.S. immigration agents outside his home in Los Angeles for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

Julio César Chávez Jr., son of boxing legend, was detained by immigration authorities over visa issues, criminal charges and alleged cartel affiliations.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr was arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) days after his defeat to Jake Paul. The Mexican was taken into custody due to his outstanding warrant in Mexico and allegations that he's affiliated with the Sinaloa Drug Cartel.
