Eight men deported from the United States in May and held under guard for weeks at an American military base in the African nation of Djibouti while their legal challenge played out in court have now reached the Trump administration’s intended destination,

President Donald Trump's administration deported eight immigrants to South Sudan, a dangerous country where most of the men have no ties, the Department of Homeland Security said Saturday.

The move clears the way for the deportation of eight men being held in a detention center at a U.S. naval base in East Africa to conflict-ridden South Sudan.
