A neighbour told an RNZ reporter that the Hain Avenue blaze - which has since been extinguished - spread quickly.

Eleven fire trucks are responding to a large fire at a block of two-storey units in South Auckland. Fire and Emergency (FENZ) crews were called to the blaze on Hain Avenue in Māngere East at 12.29pm.
