Rodriguez led West Virginia during easily the best three-year stretch in school history. After consecutive 11-2 seasons, the Mountaineers had a chance to qualify for the national championship game in 2007 but lost the regular-season finale at rival Pittsburgh, which was a heavy underdog.

Nearly seven months after he was hired, Rich Rodriguez is still beaming about his return to West Virginia. Rodriguez originally coached for the Mountaineers from 2001-07, leading them to three straight AP top-10 finishes from 2005-07.

Rich Rodriguez, 62, is back to the place where he belongs as he has returned to his home state to try to restore glory back to the Mountaineers’ football program.
